Irish in El Salvador
Relations between Ireland and El Salvador have improved significantly in recent years. In 2013, Irish President Michael D Higgins was awarded the country’s highest award for his human rights work in the country in the 1980’s. Today, the Irish in El Salvador are represented by the Irish Embassy in Mexico City and an Irish Honorary Consulate in San Salvador.
