Chile es un país que tiene sólidos vínculos históricos con Irlanda: el padre de su héroe independentista, Bernardo O’Higgins, era irlandés. Hoy en día, Chile alberga a una comunidad irlandesa pequeña pero activa. Existe una Asociación Irlandesa nacional radicada en Santiago y una Embajada Irlandesa en la vecina Argentina.
